Covid-19 Protocols
Due to a continued rise in COVID-19 metrics, Prince George’s County Executive, Angela Alsobrooks, issued an indoor public mask mandate beginning Sunday, August 5, 2021 at 5pm. All persons over the age of 5 entering the Herbert Wells Ice Rink are REQUIRED to wear masks while inside the facility. Masks MUST be worn ON THE ICE as well.
The Herbert Wells Ice Rink locker rooms are currently open for use by teams during practices/games. Locker room availability may change in the future due to the possibility of increased COVID-19 restrictions. Prince George’s County requires masks be always worn in the facility. Players, coaches, and organizations are expected to abide by the mask mandate in the locker rooms – Herbert Wells Ice Rink staff cannot monitor inside the locker rooms. Due to Safesport concerns, players are not permitted to dress or undress outside of the locker rooms in the rink area or lobby. Players are welcome to arrive dressed for practices and games. Chairs and benches are available outside the locker rooms to allow skaters to put their skates on.
At this time, USA Hockey, Potomac Valley Amateur Hockey Association (PVAHA), CBHL, and CCHL have not provided any COVID-19 protocol updates or mandatory reporting.
Please wear your mask while inside the Herbert Wells Ice Rink. The Wells Warriors Youth Hockey Association greatly appreciates your cooperation as we all continue to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus and other variants.
