Some of the Wells Warriors Mites headed to Ocean City, Md to play in the Mite/Squirt Beach Bash this weekend. The Mites opened their tournament with a 13-10 win . Best of luck to our Mites the rest of the weekend at the Beach!

Sunday November 19, the 18U Warriors took the ice right behind the 10U Warriors and played the Baltimore Stars. The 18U Warriors took the ice with just 8 skaters and a goalie. The game started as a goalie dual with both net minders stopping everything that came their way. That changed when Natan Kimelman-Block scored a power play goal on a rebound from a shot from Josh Falcone.

The second period was much like the first period with both goaltenders making some amazing saves. Russell Graham put on past the Baltimore goalie to take a 2-0 lead. The warriors would take that lead into the third period. With just 8 minutes left in the game the Stars were able to sneak one past Henry Saathoff to cut the lead in half. Henry Saathoff shook off that goal and stopped every shot after. The Warriors came home with a hard earned 2-1 win. Jacob Eberhardt lead the team in the TOI with a guesstimate of 30 minutes.

Saturday November 18, the Wells Warriors 18U team went to Columbia to play the undefeated Howard Huskies Grey team. The Warriors showed up and took the ice, the Huskies jumped out to a quick lead on the Warriors. Russell Graham evened it up at 3:22 of the first. A minute later the Huskies took the lead back and in the final minute of the period Russell Graham tied it up off a nice pass from Micah Temenak for the period to end tied up 2-2.

The second period Henry Saathoff stood tall in the net stopping all 13 shots that made it to him. Natan Kimelman-Block scored on an assist from Russell Graham at 8:10 in the second period. Joshua Falcone put on in the top shelf to take a 4-2 lead at the end of the second period.

Shortly into the third period the Warriors found themselves down a man and working on the penalty kill. Jacob Eberhardt found Russell Graham on a beautiful clearing pass and Russell was off to net his third goal of the game getting a hat trick on a short handed goal. The huskies would not just lay there and take it, they came back putting 3 pucks in the next before the end of the period. But Gabe Winebrenner scored his first goal of the year , on a power play, for a game winning goal with just under 2 minutes left in the game. The Warriors came out with a 6-5 win.
