Sunday November 15, the Wells Warrior Midgets traveled to the Nation’s Capitol to face off against the NOVA Ice Dogs at the Fort Dupont Ice Rink. Last year the Ice Dogs were a tough opponent and the Warriors went into this game expecting a tough game.

The Ice Dogs jumped out to a quick lead but Warriors quickly put two in the net in the first period by Tyler Webster and River Yearwood. The Ice Dogs lead 3 to 2 at the end of the first. The Warriors came out flying in the second period and matched the Ice Dogs goal for goal in the second period. The Warriors put in 2 more goals in the second period by River Yearwood, his second of the night, and Jake Eberhardt. The third period was one that was hard fought by both teams. There was a lot of back and forth and both goalies made some great saves to keep it a close game. The Ice Dogs got a late goal in with seconds left in the third period for the 6 to 4 win.

Goaltender Henry Saathoff kept the Ice Dogs at bay the best he could by allowing only 6 goals on 47 shots.
